Flash Flooding / Severe Thunderstorm Events Possible for the San Diego County Mountains and Valleys 8/9-8/12

National Weather Service San Diego has advised that there is a potential for Flash Flood and Severe Thunderstorm warnings throughout the mountains and valleys of San Diego County due to incoming monsoonal moisture that will arrive in the area beginning Monday (8/9) evening, though Thursday (8/12) morning. It is anticipated that during this event, certain areas of San Diego County could see rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour from severe thunderstorms.
