NWS: Heavy Rain Tropical Storm Force Winds Expected for Tropical Storm Hilary

The National Weather Service reports San Diego county should expect bands of widespread rain and pockets of heavy rain Saturday ahead of Tropical Cyclone Hilary. Rain and winds are expected to pick up Saturday afternoon ahead of the storm which is predicted to make landfall Sunday afternoon. There is a flood watch and tropical storm warning issued for San Diego county, according to the National Weather Service. Rain is expected to be significant with the possibility of catastrophic flooding. Winds are expected to be significant and sustained, which could cause trees to fall. The mountains and deserts are expected to take the brunt of the storm. Residents are encouraged to fortify their home and stay indoors during heavy winds, rain, and thunderstorms.
