The Nixon Fire is currently burning in Riverside County within the Beauty Mountain Wilderness area. The fire is currently at 4,500 acres and is 0% contained. Although the fire currently remains within Riverside County, it has the potential to extend into San Diego County if conditions change. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department has issued Evacuation Warnings for areas near the county line. See OES Emergency Map for specific evacuation information.

An overnight shelter has been established by the American Red Cross at the Temecula Valley High School (31555 Rancho Vista Rd, Temecula).  

An Evacuation Warning means you may be in danger soon.

• Contact your neighbors and share information.


• Vulnerable populations such as people with disabilities, people with access or functional needs, and/or large animals should leave now.
