Coches Fire Evacuation Animal Resources

San Diego County Fire and CAL FIRE reports the forward progress on the Coches Fire has been stopped and is 5% contained. The location of the fire is near Highway 8 Business and Los Coches Road in the community of Lakeside. CAL FIRE reports the fire is currently at 5.3 acres. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department Evacuation Order is still in effect for nearby areas. Evacuation Warnings for the area have been lifted.

The San Diego County Department of Animal Services is offering help for evacuees with pets at the Temporary Evacuation Point, located at Viejas Casino, 5000 Willows Rd., Alpine, CA 91901.

Evacuees with large animals can go to the Dianne Jacob Lakeside Equestrian Park, 11055 Moreno Ave., Lakeside, CA 92040.
